25 Years

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville

Much to celebrate. More to build.

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville is celebrating its 25th year in the Louisville community in 2010. Over the course of their 25 year history, Habitat has sheltered more than 1,000 deserving family members in the 330 homes built in Louisville. These families have helped strengthen neighborhoods and collectively they have paid more than $1.4 million in property taxes to the city.

While proud of these achievements, there is more to be done for affordable housing. Habitat’s vision for the next 10 years is to provide housing solutions for at least 300 more families and help them achieve the dream of homeownership. “Building the Dream of 2019” is a 10 year comprehensive campaign that will increase Habitat’s capacity, diversify strategic land development and increase the organization’s sustainability by increasing contributed revenue as well as growing earned income through investment in ReStore growth and income from mortgages held by Habitat.

Habitat for Humanity is proud to be working with the Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL) this year on the LEED house that will be built in the Smoketown neighborhood. As an organization, Habitat has a deep commitment to the environment as well as to the neighborhoods where it builds.
