December 2009 - YPAL announces the results of 10th Anniversary Canned Food Drive Challenge
We are pleased to announce that YPAL collected OVER 20,000 pounds of food - More than doubling our goal!

YPAL partners with the Kentucky Derby Festival to host Fall Extravaganza fundraiser. Donations of canned food were accepted in support of YPAL’s Food Drive.

The Entertainment Committee hosts first-ever Kickball Tournament at the Waterfront Park. YPAL welcomed members, family and friends for an afternoon of fun. The Entertainment Committee created a Sports Sub-Committee to organize more recreational events.

The Technology Committee hosts their first-ever committee meeting to discuss ways to improve the interactive capabilities of the YPAL Web site along with ways to make the site more beneficial to members.

The event also featured a panel including Cash Moter, president of YPAL; Carolyn Gatz, Principal at Gatz and Associates, Founding Director of the Greater Louisville Project and Dr. Nat Irvin, Professor of Management at University of Louisville College of Business, Founder & President of Future Focus 2020.

The event paired YPAL Bigs with little brothers and sisters in the local community who are need of positive role models and mentors while enjoying a day at the Zoo.

YPAL hires its first part-time employee, Sara Baumgarten, as administrative assistant. Sara's duties include answering email inquiries by members and non-members, graphic design of marketing materials, event posting and general maintenance of the YPAL Web site and membership-processing. She also maintains YPAL's social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter.
