YPAL is excited to announce our 2023 YPAL Award Winners! Meet Diana Duran. Diana was nominated by peers for connecting, engaging, and developing in our community and was recognized among more than 265 nominees.

Diana Duran (she/her) was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and lives in Louisville KY. She enjoys running, traveling, and cooking for friends and family. She is passionate about connecting people in Louisville, especially those new to the city. Diana Duran is a community leader and professional development advocate for the Latinx/Hispanic community in the city that she now calls her home. She believes that everyone should have the same opportunities to advance in their career in the corporate world. She works to create a platform where Louisville’s Latinx/Hispanic residents can come together, grow, and have a voice in the community.

Diana holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Louisville and an MBA from Bellarmine University.  She has over seven years of experience in Supply Chain and BRG/ERG engagement and leadership. Diana is a ‘Mujeres de HACE’ alumnae and participated in the Ignite Program through Leadership Louisville in 2021. As an early-career employee at LG&E and KU, she launched their Hispanic BRG, and she is currently the Co-Chair for the Events Committee for Unidos, the Hispanic BRG at Humana.

Her leadership experience extends to other organizations outside her employers. Diana was part of the board of Prospanica, the Association of Hispanic Professionals from 2015 to 2020 and was president in 2020. She joined the board of the Louisville Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in early 2021. In 2022, she was selected as a participant in the New Leaders Council Training (NLC) where the movement “Nueva Fuerza” was born as her capstone project. This project is focused on equity, representation, and civic education for the Latinx/Hispanic community.  Diana is actively working to make this an enduring initiative. She also helps at the associate board for Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana since 2021 and recently took part in the inaugural cohort of the Mayor’s Office for Women Ambassadors where she presented her Nueva Fuerza project.
