Americana World Community Center serves the refugee, immigrant, and underserved population to help them bridge the gap from simply surviving to thriving. Every year, 400 children and their families are invited to Americana’s Winter Festival where they take a professional portrait of their family, make art and crafts, and play games. This is also an opportunity to make sure that every child has a new toy to take home with them and a hat and gloves to keep them warm.

This year, Americana is looking for help to make the Winter Festival on December 15th a joyful evening for all participating families. We are asking the community to help us collect toys, hats, and gloves to be dropped off by December 13th. We are looking for unwrapped, new toys for all ages (0-18) with a value of $10-15. We ask that the toys not be war-related or religious. A few huge hits are Uno cards, Jenga, soccer balls, earphones and portable speakers for the older kiddos.

There is also an opportunity to volunteer the days before the event to decorate the building and also the day-of to help with the craft booths, making cookies, and leading families around the building.
