The Young Professionals Association of Louisville invites individuals to apply for the Fall 2013 YPAL Emerging Leaders Program: a 5-month guided course focused on addressing personal leadership-style and development needs of the next generation of community leaders. Applications will be accepted June 25 through July 12, 2013. Visit our ELP page for complete program overview and application.
This fall session will graduate the second class of the Emerging Leaders Program. The course was designed in 2012 as part of YPAL’s strategic plan to create a formal training program for leadership development for its members.
“As part of our mission to develop young professionals, we felt it was important to give our members an opportunity to discover and develop their personal leadership styles early in their careers,” said Emma Brown, Executive Director of YPAL. “Our hope is this program gives graduates an understanding of their strengths and how to best use those strengths to lead effectively in all aspects of their lives.”
The Emerging Leaders Program is a 5-month course that guides participants through a series of activities and mini-workshops to create a personal comprehensive system for reaching career and life goals. Some of the city’s top leaders will share personal experiences as part of the training.
The program was developed and is moderated by Chris Schulz, a leader at Humana in the Commercial Sales group responsible for sales leadership and professional development. Schulz has 14 years of experience helping all levels of professionals define their dreams and accomplish meaningful goals in all areas of their lives.
