Meet May’s Featured Member: Kulwant Singh!

What is your day job?
I work as a Rural 1st Post Closing Specialist at Farm Credit Mid America. I assist our customers in making their dream home come true!

What is the best part of your job?
Working with my team, we have a lot of fun. My organization, which cares deeply about their employees and invest in their personal and professional development.

How are you managing social distancing?
By staying home and spending much quality time with my family!

How are you staying in touch with family and friends during this time? Any advice?
I make sure I text or call everyone I know just to check on them and ask if they need any help. I have family in India, some in Australia and Canada so communicating with them via WhatsApp to make sure they are doing good. I was taught by my parents/teachers that in good times you can easily find friends, a real friend is who stand beside you during bad times. ( Of course, you have to make sure you stand 6ft apart during this time :P)

Why did you join YPAL?
I was new in the city and wanted to get involved with young professionals and friends. YPAL has given me the opportunity to build friendships and involve in the community.

Why did you choose Louisville?
I usually say I didn’t choose Louisville, Louisville chose me :). I met my wife in Lexington during my work visa and she ended up moving to Louisville since she is from here. I would say looking back I didn’t want to move but now I am a proud Louisvillian and happy that we made that move.
