Job Title: Bookkeeper
Job Status: Part-time, non-exempt employee
Start Date: October 2019
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Overview and Job Summary
The position is responsible for helping to maintain the financial accounting records of Hand in Hand Ministries. Though many of the duties for this position are of a bookkeeping nature, there are occasions where more in-depth accounting procedural knowledge is needed.
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. April – December average 15-20 hours per week. January-March average 20-25 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable
- Prepare the bi-weekly payroll
- File payroll tax reports
- Record bank deposits
- Reconcile cash accounts
- Prepare standard journal entries
- Import donations and pledges from donor database to Quickbooks
- Assist Accounting Manager with
- Maintaining Bingo records
- Preparation of Charitable Gaming quarterly reports
- Preparation for annual financial audit
- Preparation for annual operating budget
- Other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Skills Needed
- Excellent computer skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Quickbooks
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Self-starter with ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple projects at a time
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask meeting deadlines
- Detail oriented and results driven
