It’s Thursday evening and instead of hitting up the hottest resturant and bar in town for happy hour, I transformed my kitchen into it’s own cocktail bar.Within minutes, using my Nutribullet to blend everything together, which was 1 banana, 1 aprioct, 1 cup of blueberries, water and ice the delicious cocktail, Banana Apricot Blueberry Smoothie (BABS) was created. Indeed, I enjoyed, just as an happy hour encounter at a local bar would do. With the expectation of two things: one, instead of half off drinks, I drunk in delight for FREE! and two, I gained true health benefits for the body.
The vitamins and nutrients packed in BABS are super rich. All three fruits are high in fiber which can help with weight loss, lowering cholestrol and regulating the digestive system.
Here’s what else BABS contains and other awesome health benefits offered:
Bananas are high in potassium and considered one of the best sources for the essential mineral. There are studies that show people who eat foods rich in potassium have a lower risk of heart diease and stroke. Also, bananas can relieve heartburn and an upset stomach. Now, apricots are caretnoid packed! Carotenoids are pigments that color fruits and vetagables red, orange and yellow. There are over 600 carotenoids identified, including two of the most powerful ones beta carotene and lycopene, which are found in apricots. Apricots have the ability to protect human eyes, by preventing free radical attacks that can damage eye tissue. Lastly, blueberries are full of antioxidants. Just like carotenoids found in aproicats, blueberries contain a powerful antioxidant, called ellagic acid that can reduce cell damage caused by free radicals. Consuming blueberries can prevent cancer, slow the aging process and fuel brainpower. Now that’s the type of cocktail, I am talking about! Fresh, health effective and delicious.
Why not indulge in the benefits of cocktail BABS during your happy hour?
Cheers to being well!
