When he’s not addressing food insecurity and directing Volunteer Engagement for his team at Dare to Care Food Bank, Ron Burse invests his energy into developing future leaders. Ron volunteers his time and talent with the YMCA Black Achievers Program, a program from which he himself graduated in 2009. Ron also supports local scholarship pageants that help to bridge gaps in access to higher education. A quality of Ron’s that really stands out to us is his commitment to taking time to ask questions in an effort to understand the people around him. Young professionals attend YPAL events for a wide variety of reasons, and Ron is the YP who shows up because he wants to engage in the community and because he genuinely wants to use existing resources and create new ones that have the potential to make our city better.
