Where do you work?: Department of Housing and Urban Development

How do you strengthen our community’s impact through connecting others?
I strengthen our community by connecting others through both work and volunteerism. I am constantly on the lookout to see who I can connect others with as I feel bringing others together to accomplish their goals is just as important as accomplishing my goals. I accomplished these goals through professional networking efforts, such as YPAL where I am able to connect professionals with other professionals, attending homeless events where I am able to connect homeless people with resources they need, or during volunteer efforts where I am able to do things like clothing drives and food drives, connecting the need to the source.

Why do you love Louisville?
I love Louisville because of the openness of the people and the diversity here. I love the eclectic mix of people and the open mindedness to the inclusion of all people. And of course, I love the food & music.

You’ve been given an elephant. What would you do with it?
First, I would use the elephant to mess with my dog just a tad. I would have to answer the age old question, how would my ferocious collie react to a 3 ton elephant. But I think we can all learn from The Simpsons episode “Bart Gets an Elephant” that pet elephants are not great pets and would do better in an elephant sanctuary. Or I would find a way to get it back to Africa so I could free it in the wild.

A huge thank you to our Sponsors for your continued investment and partnership in Louisville’s Young Professional community.
