Ghosts and goblins are gossiping. Witches and wizards are whispering. The news is spreading like an outbreak of zombies: Boo La La Halloween Ball is officially Louisville’s Best Halloween Party!

It’s Halloween, that mystical time when the veil between worlds is at its thinnest. Through that veil, the SPIRITS OF THE PARKS rise up and ask for our help. Boo La La raises critical funds to support Olmsted Parks Conservancy’s work in the historic Olmsted Parks. And now members of YPAL, Louisville Public Media, and Olmsted Parks Conservancy are eligible for discounted Bash and Ball tickets!

Chances are, if you live Louisville, you use the Frederick Law Olmsted Parks! The 18 Frederick Law Olmsted Parks offer so much: playgrounds and spraygrounds; miles of trails for hiking and cycling; picnic shelters for family get-togethers; thousands of beautiful trees giving relief from the heat of the city; and green spaces for all to enjoy. These historic parks are our health clubs and art studios, our outdoor classrooms, sports facilities and family retreats.

Rarely do we stop to think about the resources necessary to keep the parks pristine. It’s FREE to enter and use the Olmsted Parks, but they are certainly NOT FREE to keep healthy, beautiful and safe. And while city tax dollars support the parks, they simply do not stretch far enough for adequate upkeep and improvements.

So climb aboard and tighten your seat belt, there is much to look forward to at the 2016 Boo La La Halloween Ball! We don’t want this party to take-off without you on board!
