Find a community of readers with Get Lit Lou (short for Get Literary Louisville), the Louisville Free Public Library’s brand-new winter reading program for adults! We encourage you to “read responsibly” this holiday season, joining young people across the city to talk about books, support local businesses, and maybe have a drink or two while you’re at it.

Who: The LFPL is all about getting our awesome city to discover the many things we offer at no cost to you—books, movies, music, classes, programs, festivals, and more. But we’re also really passionate about other local organizations doing great things in Louisville, which is why Get Lit Lou is proud to partner with Heine Brothers’ CoffeeAgainst the Grain Brewery, and 502 Fit Pass.

Rules: It’s both easy and fun to be a part of Get Lit Lou! Just read any three books and attend three programs—either at the Library or at Get Lit Lou-specific programs with partners—between December 1 and February 28. Register and find details at LFPL.org/getlitlou.

Prizes: Everyone who completes the program will receive a sense of pride and knowledge that they’re part of a unique group of book lovers. More tangibly, you’ll also receive a coupon sheet for prizes and discounts redeemable at our program supporters Half-Peach Bakery, Book & Music Exchange, andScarlet’s Bakery. Our additional weekly drawing prizes include:

  • Actors Theatre ticket vouchers
  • Belle of Louisville – Sightseeing Cruise for Two vouchers
