Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: Man and Woman of the Year Campaign
The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is simple: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma; improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The Man and Woman of the Year Campaign is a vital part of our fundraising efforts to cure blood cancers and is taking place right here in Louisville, Kentucky.
Man & Woman of the Year is one of the most dynamic, distinct and anticipated fundraising campaigns in our chapter, and it’s made possible through the dedicated efforts of our candidates. For the 2017 Campaign, we are looking for 14 local candidates who are committed to finding cures for cancer.
Do you or someone you know have what it takes to be a 2017 candidate?
Candidates for Man and Woman of the Year can come from any industry, area of town or background. A personal connection to blood cancer is not required, they are welcome to run in honor of our local Boy & Girl of the Year. By collaborating with staff, these candidates will set goals and work together with their teams to achieve and often, exceed them!
Our local Girl of the Year is Eleanor, a five year old who is a survivor of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and our Boy of the Year is Matthew, a thirteen year old currently in treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Both of them are excited to be a part of our Campaign to encourage and support the candidates!

The Campaign will run for ten weeks from March 28-June 10, 2017. We will have a kickoff party on March 28 and a Grand Finale event to announce the winners and total raised on June 10 at The Olmstead.
Candidate nominations will be accepted through November 1, 2016. Please submit their name, contact information and a brief description of why you think this person would make a great candidate for Man and Woman of the Year! Feel free to nominate yourself as well. Please send this information to Ashley Voss, Campaign Manager at Ashley.voss@lls.org
