A Letter from our President
To our Advisory Council and Sponsors,
The 2014-2015 board term has officially kicked off and we are excited to celebrate YPAL’s 15th year connecting, engaging, and developing young professionals across Kentuckiana. Throughout the past 15 years, YPAL has grown to be one of the leading professional networking organizations in Louisville, and we are thrilled to announce that we have officially exceeded our goal of reaching 850 members as of this July.
I look forward to taking over the role as President of YPAL, and hope to oversee our best year yet! We have a lot of exciting things happening this year, from hosting the second annual YP Summit in Louisville, to kicking off our healthcare initiative, and even starting our own Instagram account. (Look us up at @Ypalouisville.)
The Emerging Leaders Program has officially kicked off their fourth cohort, and we are excited to see what clever projects they will come up with to help aid young professionals’ development in the Louisville area. We are also eager for the ever-so-popular S#*! I Wish I Knew Series and the diverse themes we’re hosting this year, including “Overcoming the Millennial Stereotype,” “Planning for Failures: How to Come Back from an Upset,” and “Mentorship: How to Get a Mentor and How to Become a Mentor.”
Our new Healthcare Initiative, which is focusing on getting Louisville YPs healthier, will roll out this fall with a blogging series, that will encourage YPs to establish healthy habits physically, mentally, and financially.
The YPAL Board of Directors and I appreciate your support and dedication to our organization’s mission and values. We couldn’t connect, engage, and develop young professionals in Louisville without you.
Warmest regards,
Jean Lee
President, Young Professionals Association of Louisville
