Part of our responsibility as young professionals is to help cultivate the next generation of young leaders in our city. That is why YPAL and Ignite Louisville teamed up with Junior Achievement this year to create a program called “Gearing up for Success.” Together we helped teach high school juniors basic career skills including professional dress, resume writing and interview preparation. Programs such as this and events like our “Community Connections” concept give YPAL a chance to not only make a difference, but to connect our members with non-profit leaders in our community so they can find an organization they’d like to get more involved with in the future.

Thank you to all of our fantastic members who participated in these and all events this year. We’re looking forward to an even better 2006-07.

  • Partnered with Ignite Louisville and Junior Achievement to offer a program called “Gearing Up for Success” to juniors in two local high schools.
  • Created the concept of Community Connections, a highly successful nonprofit networking event, designed to partner YPs looking to get involved with executive directors of local non-profits.
  • Represented our membership by advocating successfully for a new downtown arena.
