Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL) unveiled our strategic plan for 2023 – 2026 at an event with YPAL leadership and members, strategic plan focus group members, and Advisory Council members on December 6, 2023.

We exist to build a welcoming, vibrant community for young people in Greater Louisville. We do this through connecting, engaging, and developing our members and our community. YPAL is excited to celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2024. We are eager to build upon the legacy of many leaders before us by continuing to grow into the organization our community needs us to be for young professionals (YPs) to thrive in Greater Louisville. We look forward to convening and mobilizing the voice of young people in year 25 and beyond. In 2026, YPAL will be known as bold, inclusive, representative, scaling, innovating, fun, and ambitious. We will be thought leaders, have a seat at the table, be a go-to source, and shape the city’s trajectory. As such, our three key pillars of the strategic plan are to:

  • Champion Inclusion & Belonging
  • Be the Bold Voice of YPs
  • Be the Source of Louisville’s Sustainable Future

The strategic planning process was facilitated by Lenae Price, President & Founder of Mindset Collaborative, and began in August 2022 with listening sessions with YPAL focus groups including; Former Board Presidents, Advisory Council, Sponsors, Members, Community Organizations, YPAL Foundation and board members. The YPAL Strategic Planning committee consisted of folks from each of these groups and convened several times to review feedback, assess opportunities, barriers, survey data, and more. The new strategic plan was passed unanimously by the Board of Directors on April 19, 2023, and will guide the organization from July 2023 – December 2026.

Our next steps are underway in conducting an evaluation of our non-profit status, a diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) audit, and a brand refresh. The DEIB audit and brand refresh are being facilitated by our partners at FieldTrip.¬†Your first opportunity to support YPAL’s new plan will be at the Voice of YP event on January 10. The event is open to all leaders (not just YPs). We hope to see you there to kick off 2024 and the first big event our plan, together!
